DP World, the fast-growing logistics leader that currently manages more than 10% of world trade, is expanding its Freight Forwarding network in Slovenia & Croatia.

We are seeking an experienced Freight Forwarding Operations Specialist with a focus on sea & air operations to join our team. We welcome applications from candidates based in any of the following countries : Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Romania, however, experience on the Slovenian / Croatian markets is required.

Your Responsibilities :

  • Conducting a thorough pricing & procurement process to generate air freight transport quotes, aiding Sales department colleagues in retaining existing clients and acquiring new ones.
  • Negotiating rates and tariffs with airlines, international agents, and carriers to

secure competitive transport solutions.

  • Ensuring an accurate analysis of all offers to identify market trends, collaborating closely with the Sales team and providing regular market updates.
  • Obtaining process orders through Sales or in-house clients using the TMS.
  • Issuing operations, shipping, and delivery instructions to the involved transport parties.
  • Coordinating air / rail / truck / sea cargo pickup / delivery for export / import.
  • Arranging export / import space reservations through agents and lines, prioritizing client and company needs.
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable regulations in origin / transit / destination countries to prevent delays or penalties.
  • Analyzing client documents for hazardous, restricted, or prohibited items, informing superiors / clients of any discrepancies.
  • Notifying clients of transport details, customs requirements, and monitoring cargo throughout the shipment process.
  • Advising clients on customs duties and VAT for imported goods based on customs broker information.
  • Providing delivery confirmations (CMRs) to relevant parties.
  • Maintaining real-time updates and accuracy of TMS data.
  • Reviewing and approving invoices from agents / suppliers in line with agreed payment terms in a timely and accurate manner to meet performance indicators.

    • Your Profile :

  • Higher education studies in Transportation / Logistics or a similar field would be an advantage.
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in managing freight forwarding, international transport, import, export, and transit operations.
  • IATA certifications would be an advantage.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, including the ability to proactively anticipate and resolve issues and take appropriate corrective actions.
  • Full professional working proficiency in the English and Slovenian / Croatian languages.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Capability to maintain high productivity levels while remaining calm under pressure.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute long-term plans.
  • Client-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality service.
  • Adept at identifying and implementing pragmatic solutions.
