Could you be the full-time Signalling Systems Design Engineer in Cluj-Napoca we’re looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your technical expertise in signalling systems in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative and detail-oriented teammates.

You'll play a key role in ensuring the successful design and implementation of signalling systems that shape the future of mobility. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (such as Project Engineering, Installation, Testing & Commissioning, and Validation teams), analyze and verify design documents, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and much more.

You’ll specifically take care of producing customized engineering solutions and ensuring smooth interfacing between systems / subsystems and external stakeholders, but also supporting technical topics related to signalling-specific networks.

We’ll look to you for :

  • Collaborating with the Project Engineering Manager, Project Manager, Project Architect, and Design team to address technical topics related to signalling systems
  • Adhering to signalling design principles, project schedules, and relevant management plans (, Project Engineering Plan, Change Management Plan, Configuration Management Plan)
  • Analyzing and confirming inputs provided to the Project Engineering Manager and Subsystem Leaders to complete the design and architecture for the signalling scope
  • Ensuring feedback from supervisors or customers is adequately implemented and responded to in submitted documents
  • Verifying and analyzing design documents, such as Scheme Plans, Signalling Rules, System Naming Rules, Network Addressing Plans, and System Databases
  • Interfacing with Engineering, Installation, Testing & Commissioning, and Validation teams to ensure proper handovers and clarification of inputs
  • Contributing to continuous improvement and innovation through Return on Experience (RoE) and work method statements
  • Promoting and practicing the Alstom Code of Ethics and adhering to the highest standards of ethical conduct

  • Knowledge of design documentation processes and tools
  • Familiarity with system interfacing and integration
  • A certification in railway signalling (preferred but not mandatory)

  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities
  • Things you’ll enjoy

Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also :

  • Enjoy stability, challenges, and a long-term career free from boring daily routines
  • Work with new security standards for rail signalling
