We’re seeking an experienced Lead Software Engineer who has a leadership background and remains highly involved in hands-on technical work.
Requirements :
- At least 5 years of professional experience as a Software Engineer.
- Experience managing people is essential, ideally including involvement in hiring and onboarding new team members.
- Experience with Python and Django (or a similar web framework) for web development, as you’ll be contributing to full-stack projects.
- Experience in domain modelling and working with HTTP and RESTful APIs.
- Experience building robust, fault-tolerant software systems.
- Familiarity with Celery and asynchronous processing.
- Experience working with PostgreSQL (Postgres).
- Problem-solving skills and a general interest in technology are key — we’re looking for someone who is diligent, thoughtful, and curious.
Will be a plus :
Hands-on experience with Terraform, Packer, and Consul.Proficiency in using React and Redux for building modern frontend applications.Working knowledge of GraphQL and its integration into web services.Background in industry or finance-focused projects at Kraken is a strong advantage; alternatively, prior involvement in the UK energy sector is highly relevant.Responsibilities :
Leading a team of engineers.This role will involve line management duties, as well as being hands-on and close to the code.Your team will be building and maintaining a consumer site for our clients, offering Prepay to their customers (UK-based clients).Your team will be responsible for understanding how the product can be expanded to other geographies and countries, as well as roadmapping, hiring, and ultimately building a more generalised solution.You may get involved in hiring for your team as it naturally grows, conducting interviews, marking tech challenges, making hiring decisions.You’ll work very closely with the Product Manager, Pearl Gillard(based in London, UK).We're very excited to be growing our team.
