Could you be the full-time Senior Project Contract Manager for our project in Bucharest we’re looking for?
Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your contract and project management expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll report to the Region Contract Management and work alongside dynamic, professional and dedicated teammates.
You'll provide guidance and leadership to develop, implement, and drive contract / claim management and risk mitigation strategies in accordance with Alstom’s business objectives; including extensions of time (EoTs), variations orders, contract amendments. You will ensure proper record keeping and file preparation in support of robust claim files. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (project management, engineering, industrial, quality, different support functions, etc).
We’ll look to you for :
- Put in place the appropriate contract management tools and processes, in particular regarding correspondences, notifications, insurances, EoT claims, and variation requests / orders and claims preparation files.
- Make sure the Contract Management Strategy Plans and Contract Management Days are implemented in due time
- Coordinate and animate the Cluster’s / Country’s Contract Management community, including KSCM.
- Anticipate events and risks, and propose various alternative proactive solutions in furtherance of Alstom’s business objectives.
- Define claim strategies for critical projects in Cluster / Country.
- Ensure that the projects within the Cluster / Country perform correct / accurate risk assessments, including supporting the Project Core Team Members in establishing and quantifying the project’s or the Region’s ”risk appetite,” , the level of risk we are prepared to accept.
- Reporting on claim status and strategies to Management.
- Lead and support the Contract Management community in Cluster / Country in executing proactive contract management.
- Support delay analysis in EoT claims.
- Assist Finance in the presentation of costs within claims.
- Liaise with Sourcing for development of pass-through claims from suppliers to customers / partners.
- Ad-hoc support to Legal for tender assessment of contractual risks and opportunities.
- Drive claim preparation, claim strategies and claim roadmaps to protect the Cluster / Country P&L
- Ensure that PrCM, KSCM and PrCA together with Project Team implement tools for the reliable filing and easy access of the incoming and outgoing correspondence.
- Responsible to provide support to the Project Management teams in identifying any potential risks that may impact the projects or profitability of the company, including to assess threats and put plans in place to avoid, reduce or transfer risks as appropriate.
- Drive identification and preparation of offensive and / or defensive claims for critical projects in the Cluster / Country.
- Responsible for the implementation and achievement of the Cluster’s / Country’s contract management and claims strategies, including claims’ KPIs
- Responsible to consolidate appropriate reporting of Cluster’s / Country’s contract and claim management activities
- Ensure timely and reliable Contract Management reporting including KPI
- Ensure Contract Managers are actively participating trainings and Live Tips and promote such trainings to Project Core Teams

A degree in Law, Engineering, Finance, Technical, Economics or Business SciencesPostgraduate in Management or Master of Business Administration (MBA) - is a plusMinimum of 15 years’ experience working in infrastructure project in a contract management / project legal / project management / project finance role.Experience in industrial sectors, preferably in the railway business, in oil & gas or other construction-related fields.Excellent communication and presentation skills in English. Fluency in second language (, French) a plus. Professional certification in Contract Management, also a plus.Tenacious individual with strong communication, problem-solving, relationship and consensus-building skills, and a high degree of personal initiative and attention to details.Ability to be diplomate and to advocate a different (or even contrary) point of view.Rigorous in reporting and troubleshooting.Provide early warnings as soon as unforeseen problems arise, in full transparency, and to ensure timely corrective action can be takenStrong analysis capability for identifying and solving issues.Identify critical tasks & issues and takes action to prioritize, deliver and follow-up of mitigation / remedy plans.Team oriented with the ability to work independently.Delegates, provides encouragement and support to people in accepting responsibility with accountability.Things you’ll enjoy
