Chief Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Chief Accountnat to join our Finance team in Craiova, Romania, who will be responsible for implementing accounting practices and procedures and supervising a group of general accountants in maintaining the general ledger.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways :

Supervise a group of general accountants in maintaining the general ledger.

Implement accounting policies under the direction of the Finance Director.

Implement processes and procedures that properly capture, track, and report revenue and expenditures.

Compiles, reviews, analyzes, and records complex financial information.

Review account reconciliations prepared by accountants and accounting clerks.

Reviews and interprets balance sheets and profit and loss statements, consolidated financial statements, and other accounting schedules and reports.

Identifies control weaknesses and communicates to management.

Operates in a lead capacity in making remedial changes to tighten and enhance controls and mitigate risk.

Conducts research and analysis on advanced issues.

Designs, modifies, installs, and / or maintains accounting systems to ensure adequate recognition of financial transactions.

Coaches and mentors accountants and accounting clerks; assigns work according to availability, skills, and developmental needs; assesses performance and provides feedback to direct reports.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role, you will need the following :

College degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics relevant discipline.

Minimum 5 years of experience in statutory accounting, including financial statements, tax computation, tax returns, and audits.

Experience in a multinational company and participation in tax audits.

Previous experience as a Chief Accountant with managing a team of at 34 direct reports.

Professional certifications such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant), CIMA, ACCA, or national certifications (, CECCAR certified accountant, CAFR authorized auditor) with solid taxation experience.

Prioficiency in the English language (speaking level).

Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Windows, etc.) and experience with ERP systems (, SAP, Oracle).

Strong communication skills, resiliency, ability to work under preassure
