We are looking for an Editorial Production Coordinator (contractor) to join our fully-remote & always-remote global Editorial team. As the Editorial Production Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating the production of two podcasts per week, publishing articles and Trend Reports on InfoQ.com, creating eMags, and maintaining projects and reporting trackers.

About the role :

As an Editorial Production Coordinator, you are a highly organized and reliable individual, who possesses exceptional attention to detail, is self-motivated, enjoys coordinating projects, and collaborating with international InfoQ contributors and colleagues.

  • Podcast Production : Coordinate the production of two podcasts per week by booking guests, supporting research for hosts, and ensuring necessary equipment. Manage production schedules, work with audio editors to finalize recordings, and request transcripts for edited podcasts. Coordinate the implementation of pre-roll ads and maintain a podcast tracker for smooth operations.
  • Articles : Prepare articles for publication on InfoQ by formatting them into clean HTML code and finding relevant imagery. Coordinate with editors before publication to review and publish final articles on the CMS.
  • eMags and Minibooks : Collaborate with sales for eMag production by maintaining trackers and project milestones. Collect necessary items from eMag editors, including approvals from contributors. Create eMags using design and layout software, following pre-defined templates. Keep quality checklists for stakeholders to review and approve designs.
  • Imagery and Graphics : Create images for InfoQ Trends Reports using pre-defined templates and add them to the CMS before publishing. Create YouTube artwork, attach it to MP4 files, and publish on YouTube. Fulfill requests for images from other team members (excluding editors) for news and articles.
  • Publishing Distribution Channels : Manage and improve InfoQ's presence on publishing channels like Apple News, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and YouTube.
  • Process and Documentation : Suggest and help implement improvements for the editorial process and keep detailed documentation (Google Drive and wikis) for editorial production projects.
  • Assist other departments and staff as needed.
  • Job Requirements : Professional Experience, Skills & Education :

  • Must have experience using Content Management Systems (CMS)
  • Must have basic HTML experience
  • Previous experience coordinating projects is highly preferred
  • Experience using Google Workspace, including Gmail, Drive, Sheets, Slides, and Docs.
  • Experience with design and layout tools, such as Photoshop and InDesign
  • Set-up Requirements :

  • Able to work in a full-time remote positionReside in Romania
  • Able to work as an independent contractor
  • Able to work in overlap with our core global office hours (9 am - 1 pm EST). This might mean evenings for you
  • Quiet home office and comfortable to work from home
  • Reliable, high-speed internet access
  • A newer computer is required (no older than 3 years)
  • Valid passport & ability to travel internationally (incl. USA or Europe) 1 - 3 times per year with an average stay of 4-8 days each, to attend our software conferences and annual company meetings (we would pay for your travel expenses)
