Location Romania Bucuresti Bucharest Remote vs. Office Hybrid (Remote / Office) Company Siemens Energy Organization EVP Global Functions Business Unit Competence Hub Full / Part time Full-time Experience Level Experienced Professional A snapshot of your day As a Senior Buyer you will be responsible of the supply of materials based on customer requirements at the lowest price whilst ensuring quality & timely delivery. You will own the handling, controlling, and supervising all Procurement activities within your assigned desks / commodities.As a member of the Services Procurement organization, you're responsible for developing procurement strategies for direct materials that will ensure the optimization of company’s technical edge. How You’ll Make an Impact
- Implement Commodity strategies to ensure long-term and cost-efficient materials supply and act as an interface to R&D, Project Procurement, Project Management, Sales & Proposal, Cost-Value Engineering, and Supplier Quality Management
- Implement and ensure usage of globally defined methods, processes and systems to ensure high process efficiency and process compliance ( compliant Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) process, Procurement guidelines, IT systems, etc.)
- Supervise the markets worldwide to build a basis for deciding the optimum sourcing strategy and collaborate with suppliers
- Generate, document, and implement savings, ( CNI; plan, monitor, and report on relevant key performance indicators to chip in to business success) and make results clear
- Support Supplier Management processes ( qualification, selection, evaluation, on-boarding, development, etc.)
- Collaborate with Commodity Management to continuously drive the development of the supply base (Supplier selection, incl. documentation and communication of strategic suppliers, regular supplier and strategic evaluations, supplier classifications and supplier development to obtain and develop the best suppliers)
What You Bring
University degree in a technical or business-related field or equivalent experienceExperience in procurement related roles (Project Procurement, Commodity Management) or similar expertise in technologiesAbility to facilitate and cultivate a harmonious approach beyond your own organizational unit & functionKnowledge of procurement strategies on different material fields inclusive of contract templates with the ability to adjust them to more complex contract situations when requiredAbility to recognize deviations from contract templates and coordinate adjustments with Legal if / when vitalSecures requirements from Customer contracts in Supplier contracts (back-to-back)Has more detailed understanding of legal terms and their influence on the business relationshipsExperience in identifying the market drivers and trends in own commodity by conducting global market analysis independentlyCritical thinking and strong analytical skillsAbility to independently prepare and carry out mid-complex negotiations (including negotiation strategy, max / min goal, fallback position, role allocation, target costing)Ability to calculate and compare the cost line of Supplier offers as decision criteria for optional Advance Negotiations and e-Auction designsAdherence to process requirements in terms of compliance, is aware of the Business Conduct Guidelines and applies them in the day-to-day workRecognition of deficits and violations among Suppliers and is confident to call out these to the cross-functional partnersTechnical understanding (DIN and Siemens Energy Standards, reading drawings, technical delivery specifications, etc.)Excellent English language skills, German language skills desirableTravel percentage ~10%Availability to work from our Bucharest office 3 days per week, with 2 days remote
