Responsibilities
Analyze what could go wrong in autonomous driving systems (e.g., sensors, cameras, AI decisions)Find ways to reduce these risks and make the system safer in real-world conditionsDefine safety goals and requirements, and ensure they are included in the designWork closely with teams developing software, hardware, AI / ML, and testingCreate safety test plans (simulations and track testing) and evaluate resultsMonitor how the system performs from a safety perspective and identify improvementsSupport investigations of safety incidents and help fix any gapsMentor junior engineers on SOTIF best practicesRequirements
Technical degree (e.g., Systems Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science, Robotics)5+ years of experience in system or functional safety for automotive or autonomous systemsStrong understanding of safety standards : ISO 21448 (SOTIF) and ISO 26262Skilled in risk and hazard analysis (STPA, FMEA, FTA, etc.)Hands-on experience with ADAS or autonomous features — in real vehicles or simulationsFamiliar with engineering tools (e.g., CarMaker, CARLA, dSPACE, JAMA, DOORS, Polarion, JIRA)
