42matches is looking for a Lead Java Developer (m / f / d) on behalf of a specialized market leader in legal and financial technology, who is not only technically convincing, but also wants to take responsibility and lead a small team of developers.

In this company, legal expertise meets modern technology : established for decades - now digital, efficient and highly automated. You will work on complex applications with real impact - together with experienced colleagues in a stable, modern setup.

Tasks

  • You develop production-ready software solutions with Spring Boot 3, Vaadin, React or Thymeleaf
  • You take on technical responsibility in the team, provide technical direction and act as a sparring partner for developers
  • You actively contribute to the further development of the software architecture - with a focus on scalability, maintainability and clean code
  • You carry out code reviews, establish best practices and promote technical quality assurance
  • You coordinate requirements with the specialist departments and design functional solutions together with product owners
  • You monitor new technologies (e.g. AI / LLMs) and evaluate their potential for use in the project context

Qualification

  • At least 8 years of experience in software development with Java and Spring Boot (ideally v3)
  • Solid knowledge of frontend technologies such as Vaadin, React or Thymeleaf
  • Experience with relational databases (e.g. Oracle) and ORMs such as Hibernate or Spring Data JPA
  • You are communicative, enjoy coaching other developers and are happy to take on technical responsibility
  • Clean code, a structured way of working and active knowledge transfer are a matter of course for you
  • Knowledge of CI / CD setups (e.g. GitLab) and containerization (Docker) is a plus
  • Very good knowledge of German (at least C1) and solid knowledge of English
