Oracle Analytics Service Excellence (OASE) partners with the Oracle Analytics development teams to improve the uptime, scalability, and reliability of our services (Oracle Analytics Cloud, Fusion Data Intelligence, and others).
We are seeking a candidate with a strong development background (preferably in Python and / or Java) who is interested in applying their programming skills to solve real-world operational challenges. This role is ideal for someone who wants to expand their expertise into DevOps — blending coding, automation, cloud service operations, and system reliability engineering.
You will work in an agile, fast-paced environment to :
- Build automation for monitoring, patching, compliance scanning, and issue remediation.
- Create tools and solutions that improve service uptime and operational efficiency.
- Contribute to development projects that drive business growth by optimizing service reliability and reducing operational costs.
This position supports both global and Europe-specific deployments of Oracle Analytics services, including building and maintaining infrastructure for new service realms, patching and upgrading services, monitoring for compliance, troubleshooting, and supporting cross-functional incident management.
Basic Qualifications :
BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent technical discipline.Solid programming experience in Python and / or Java (additional scripting experience with Bash, Ansible, or JavaScript is a plus).Understanding of cloud networking fundamentals (TCP / IP, DNS, HTTP, .Knowledge of Linux / Unix systems and experience with system-level troubleshooting and scripting.Exposure to DevOps practices and tools (., CI / CD pipelines, automated deployments).Experience developing or operating distributed, cloud-based services at scale.Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, including the ability to reverse engineer existing systems.Ability to produce clear technical documentation (runbooks, KnowledgeBase articles, help guides).Experience working with agile methodologies.Strong communication skills and ability to work with remote, globally distributed teams.Ability to work independently and adapt to dynamic project needs.Willingness to participate in on-call rotations and perform occasional after-hours work.Preferred Qualifications :
Hands-on experience with Oracle Analytics Server, BI Publisher, Oracle DB technologies (Autonomous DB, MySQL), or similar analytics platforms.5+ years' experience running large-scale customer-facing web applications.Familiarity with cloud platforms like OCI, AWS, Azure, or GCP.Experience with cloud-native application development (microservices, Kubernetes, containers).Knowledge of CI / CD tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.Exposure to REST API design and development.Experience with issue tracking and collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence).Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and automation best practices.Key Responsibilities :
Perform DevOps activities to support service reliability, release cycles, and production stability.Respond to service incidents, troubleshoot, and lead resolution efforts, including root cause analysis.Build and maintain automation tools for deployment, monitoring, patching, and recovery.Become an expert in Oracle Analytics services, driving proactive reliability improvements.Create, update, and maintain operational documentation and runbooks.Deliver interim patches, hot-fixes, and upgrades with high quality.Partner with development, product, and support teams to resolve service failures and drive continuous improvement.Monitor service metrics, analyze trends, and implement improvements to CI / CD pipelines and operational processes.Mentor and guide junior engineers; contribute to a culture of knowledge sharing and technical excellence.LI-DNI
