About Us: Ignite Visibility
We are not just another digital marketing agency—we are an industry juggernaut. Named the #1 SEO Company in the US and a multiple-time Inc. 5000 honoree, Ignite Visibility is a fast-growing, award-winning powerhouse based in sunny San Diego, California.
Behind our cutting-edge marketing strategies is a world-class engineering team building the infrastructure that powers it all. We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our global team and help us architect, scale, and secure the cloud environments that drive our success.
The Opportunity
This is your chance to work with a top-tier US company without relocating. We are looking for a seasoned AWS expert who lives and breathes Infrastructure as Code, automation, and cloud architecture. You won't just be "keeping the lights on"—you will be designing self-service infrastructure, optimizing for cost and performance, and building the internal developer platforms that enable our engineering teams to move faster.
If you are a proactive problem-solver who thrives on building resilient systems, automating the boring stuff, and collaborating with smart people across the globe, this is the role for you.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities)
- Architect & Scale: Design and manage robust AWS cloud infrastructure for software development, deployment, and testing.
- Automate Everything: Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure Pipelines) to automate testing and deployment.
- Champion Observability: Implement comprehensive monitoring (Datadog, New Relic, CloudWatch) to ensure system reliability, performance, and proactive issue resolution.
- Embed Security: Integrate security and compliance checks directly into the pipeline (DevSecOps) and apply "Shift Left" principles.
- Empower Developers: Build and maintain self-service infrastructure capabilities (Internal Developer Platforms) to accelerate delivery.
- Optimize Costs: Proactively analyze and optimize cloud infrastructure for cost efficiency and performance (FinOps).
- Manage Configuration: Configure and maintain servers, databases, networking, and storage using IaC (Terraform/CDK) .
- Streamline Workflows: Collaborate closely with development teams to streamline code deployment and reduce friction.
- Script & Automate: Write automation scripts (Python, Bash, or JavaScript for debugging) to eliminate repetitive tasks.
- Secure Version Control: Oversee the stability and security of our GitHub Enterprise environment.
What You Bring (Core Requirements)
Cloud & Infrastructure
- 4+ years of hands-on AWS experience with core services (EC2, ELB, AutoScaling, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudWatch, IAM).
- AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification (or equivalent cloud certification).
- Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration basics (ECS or Kubernetes).
- Deep proficiency with Terraform/OpenTofu (preferred) and AWS CDK. Experience designing reusable, state-managed modules.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts (load balancers, routers, WAFs, ingress controllers).
CI/CD & Automation
- Proven experience building CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Azure Pipelines, or AWS native tools.
- Deep familiarity with Git workflows and branch strategies (GitFlow, trunk-based).
Observability & Security
- Deep understanding of observability principles (metrics, logs, traces) and experience instrumenting applications.
- Strong grasp of cloud security best practices (IAM least-privilege, security groups, encryption).
FinOps & Cost Optimization
- Familiarity with FinOps practices, analyzing cloud spend, identifying waste, and implementing cost-saving measures (rightsizing, spot instances). Experience with AWS Cost Explorer is a plus.
Stand Out With These (Nice-to-Haves)
- AWS Solutions Architect Certification.
- Cloudflare experience (CDN, WAF, DNS, Workers).
- GitOps experience with ArgoCD or Flux.
- Experience running vulnerability scans (Trivy, Snyk).
- Additional AWS services: Route53, SNS, ECR, ECS, EKS, DynamoDB.
- JavaScript/TypeScript coding experience (for debugging Lambdas).
- Backstage or similar IDP framework experience.
The Ideal Candidate (Soft Skills & Logistics)
- Documentation Pro: You write clear, maintainable runbooks and architecture notes.
- Availability: Full-time commitment (40 hours/week).
- Communication: C1/C2 level English proficiency (advanced/native). You can clearly explain complex infrastructure decisions to developers and stakeholders.
- Autonomous: Comfortable working asynchronously across different time zones.
