Product developers create new services and solutions for MMC to offer to clients. Starting at the ideation phase, where new products are conceived and developed, through to the introduction phase, where go-to-market strategies are put into action, product developers collaborate with stakeholders across the firm to turn innovative ideas into marketable products. A Product Development Manager leads a group of professional individual contributors to achieve operational results, helping them to establish goals, solve problems and work across the organization.
As the Proposition Manager, you will be accountable for the development of Propositions to meet agreed business and market needs. The role will involve working across Mercer teams on existing and new Darwin solutions, ensuring that the Proposition is robust and aligns with the Darwin Services and Technology Teams’ strategy and delivery capability. It will require working closely with your peers within the Propositions team and the CPO function.
This is a varied role in a complex organization, which will require the successful individual to effectively manage multiple tasks and responsibilities to a high professional standard.
We will count on you to :
Work with the Head of Propositions & Engagement and team to devise and deliver propositions to achieve Darwin’s strategy;
Research, source and analyze internal and external data to support proposition design and planning, ensuring these are client centric and make commercial sense for the business;
Work with stakeholders across Mercer to deliver the best possible propositions, integrating all key ingredients (features, pricing, take to market etc.) are carefully considered and constructed to meet the market need;
Work across improving existing propositions and seek out future sources of income through unique and appealing propositions;
Support definition and communication of the proposition internally to Darwin and to Mercer Commercial teams including definitions, updates and training;
Be prepared to project manage the end to end propositions process – from initial research, to deliver and early life optimization;
Support ongoing reporting of team and proposition performance with insight for continuous business improvement;
What you need to have :
Experience of the end-to-end propositions design and delivery process – from market analysis, to business case building, to technical and operational delivery and early life optimization;
Extensive experience of strategy development and classic strategy models;
Experience of leading ideation and innovation processes and frameworks;
Exceptional influencing skills and the ability to craft and present digestible content to senior stakeholders;
Extensive experience with Sales and Client Management teams and high comfort levels with seeking inputs, presenting concepts as well as leading on commercial enablement for propositions being launched;
Experience across all proposition development levers : pricing, take to market, product design etc;
The ability to think strategically - understanding the industry, business and customer dynamics - whilst also being able to deliver the detail, either yourself or through other teams;
Well-developed skills on analysis and business casing to help the company priorities key new opportunities;
