Your new role and environment.
As a Configuration Manager , you will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity and quality of our Configuration Management Database (CMDB) within ServiceNow.
Key responsibilities of your role.
- Implementing, monitoring, and enhancing the Configuration process, including establishing standards and guidelines. You'll safeguard data quality through reports and dashboards, and ensure that other essential roles are properly staffed and integrated within the organization.
- Providing tools, resources, and data, and leading the configuration administration efforts for executing remediation tasks and implementing CMDB improvements in ServiceNow. You'll also ensure that regular quality measurements are performed.
- Assisting with the migration of existing legacy configuration tooling to the central CMDB using ServiceNow.
- Advising teams and guiding them on the correct use of the CMDB. While teams remain responsible for their own data, your support and feedback on data quality will continuously improve the overall CMDB in close collaboration with other Configuration Managers.
- Serving as the primary contact for teams with any questions or demands related to the CMDB.
- Reporting to the BeCSEE Regional IT Operations Manager on process adherence, improvements, CMDB and CSDM rollout, health, quality, operational topics, and issues.
- Establishing and maintaining the Configuration Management plan.
- Owning the Configuration Management process and being responsible for defining and managing the processes surrounding the CMDB.
- Determining and documenting CMDB / ServiceNow specific principles, such as authorization and naming conventions.
- Acting as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for the business regarding CMDB demands and for the ServiceNow Platform owner.
- Ensuring the definition of and adherence to the logical CMDB and CSDM data model, in cooperation with the CSDM and CMDB Stewards.
- Facilitating insights into CMDB data quality and providing updates to executives by establishing Health dashboards and reporting options.
- Driving new initiatives to enhance overall data quality.
- Facilitating and managing CMDB Audits by providing relevant data to stakeholders.
- Being accountable for adherence to regulations, security & privacy policies, and the defined target model (quality), including Lifecycle Management (LCM) processes for managing CI data.
- Ensuring the ServiceNow CMDB is properly implemented to meet necessary requirements.
- Monitoring Configuration Item (CI) health and acting on resulting issues.
- Ensuring that remediation tasks are performed and monitoring their progress.
- Responsible for the actual CMDB and CSDM data
