People Director

The role

We are actively looking for a People Director to manage the in country HR operations for Romania. This is a strategic role which is part of the country leadership team in a country which houses our oldest European port. You will develop the long term strategic people plan which built from the regional and global people priorities. We are in the midst of a huge amount of change as we move away from a primarily ports and terminal business to an end to end supply chain specialist.

Your role will involve managing the HR team and allow them to really flourish and grow in their roles. The team will be instrumental in pushing the new way of thinking and adopting a one DP World culture across the locations. You will lead the strategic workforce development, talent attraction / retention, development of HR policies and be in change of the benefits and compensation management.

Romania is key to the development of the Eastern Cluster strategy, as part of that there the freight forwarding control tower is being developed in the country. As Romania will be a key player in the cluster you will have the ability to think internationally and act locally to allow the team to influence across a number of territories and business units. Data is key to this role and the ability to manage data and a strong financial acumen will make sure that you are successful in this role.

You will be reporting to the head of HR for the Eastern cluster and will be managing a team of 9 across the various functions. The role is based in Constanta and the team are also based there so it is essential that you are in that office most of the time. You will be working with the Head of HR very closely and help not only develop the local team but provide advice on opinions to cluster level HR matters.

• Previous experience of developing and implementing a multi faceted HR strategy
• An international outlook and experience of change management in a matrix organisation

• An interest in HR innovation and a creative thinker who can come up with novel solutions to issues.
