Job description

We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Business Development Director to lead and expand our presence in Romania’s nuclear energy sector . The role focuses on identifying new business opportunities, managing key partnerships, and driving growth in nuclear energy projects, including new build, decommissioning, and fuel cycle services.

Key Responsibilities

✅ Strategic Growth & Market Expansion :

  • Develop and execute a business development strategy aligned with Romania’s nuclear energy goals.
  • Identify and pursue new opportunities in nuclear power generation, small modular reactors (SMRs), and related technologies.
  • Stay updated on regulatory and government policies impacting the Romanian nuclear sector.

✅ Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement :

  • Build and maintain relationships with government agencies, nuclear regulatory bodies (CNCAN), and energy companies (e.g., Nuclearelectrica).
  • Work closely with technology providers, EPC contractors, and international partners to explore collaborations.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, government meetings, and networking events.
  • ✅ Project & Contract Management :

  • Lead negotiations for long-term contracts, joint ventures, and investment opportunities in nuclear energy projects.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to assess the feasibility and financial viability of nuclear projects.
  • Ensure compliance with Romanian and EU nuclear safety and environmental regulations.
  • ✅ Financial & Commercial Leadership :

  • Conduct market analysis and feasibility studies to support investment decisions.
  • Drive revenue growth and profitability through innovative business models and funding strategies.
  • Manage budgets, forecasts, and business cases for nuclear projects.
  • Requirements

    Qualifications & Experience

  • Education : Degree in Engineering, Business, Energy Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree (MBA or MSc in Nuclear Energy) is a plus.
  • Experience : Minimum 10+ years in business development, sales, or strategy roles within the nuclear energy sector or power generation.
  • Industry Knowledge : Strong understanding of nuclear energy markets, policies, and supply chains in Romania and the EU.
  • Skills :
  • Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong financial acumen and ability to develop business cases.
  • Fluency in Romanian & English
