of Your Day
You kick off your day as Head of Accounting
Services Europe by meeting with your direct reports, to discuss the state of
the transition, the latest team updates, and strategic initiatives to improve
the process efficiency within your remit.
Next you talk to the Head of Accounting for one
of your service areas, a key stakeholder and partner, to align the update for
the regional CFO community next week which you’ll present jointly. Before you
head to lunch, you dive deep with your GL, Closing & Reporting function
into a major project of theirs which drives harmonization across the region.
Refreshed, you start the second half of your
day with a mentoring session for a top finance talent from the region. While
you just had a quick glance at your wider team’s KPIs, and addressed major
observations to your respective function leads, you find yourself in a review
meeting with the Regional Accounting team to evaluate improvement potential of
the end-to-end process for Fixed Assets.
Because you’re the global sponsor for the
Accounts Receivable teams, you meet with the function leads for all
three-service provider regions within Accounting Services to simulate the
strategic and collective thinking of this group and drive selection of the next
tool of choice. You end your day with a check-in with your manager, the Global
Head of Accounting Services, and followed by a 1o1 with peer the Accounting
Service Center Manager for Americas.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Lead the overall operation of the Accounting Service
Centre Europe, covering General Ledger, Closing & Reporting, Fixed Assets,
Bank & Cash, and Accounts Receivable.
Based in Bucharest, Romania or Lisbon, Portugal,
provide operational accounting excellence for Siemens Energy entities across
Europe.
Represent Accounting Services with key stakeholders in
the region and collaborate with counterparts in Asia Pacific and the Americas
to drive global harmonization and standardization.
Build, develop, and inspire an energetic, change-ready
team that delivers operational results while continuously embracing
transformation at both local and global levels.
Use strong communication skills to guide, support, and
challenge your team through periods of ambiguity.
Apply project-driven, design-thinking approaches to
shape streamlined global processes, moving seamlessly between process deep
dives and strategic initiatives.
What You Bring
Education
& Expertise : Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field, with
strong business and accounting acumen.
Leadership
Experience : Minimum 10 years in leading operational accounting or shared
service centers, with proven success in finance leadership and guiding teams
through change management.
Entrepreneurial
& Transformational Mindset : Eager to drive finance transformation, process
excellence, and organizational improvements through change management and
project management tools.
People
Leadership : People-oriented, with a strong track record of hiring, developing,
and supporting the personal growth of team members.
Communication
& Collaboration : Strong written and verbal communication skills, open and
communicative by nature, fluent in English, and effective at engaging across
multicultural environments.
Strategic
& Operational Flexibility : Ability to seamlessly shift between discussing
detailed process steps and high-level strategic initiatives with accuracy and
effectiveness.
