A Snapshot of Your Day :
Provide on-site support for patch management at customer facilities, specifically for FACTS (Flexible AC Transmission Systems) and HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) installations. You will work closely with a team and you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and functionality of critical infrastructure systems.
How You Will Make an Impact :
- Provide on-site support for patch management at customer facilities, including TenneT, Transnet BW, 50 Hertz, and Amprion.
- Perform system hardening and ensure the security of PC stations prior to patch installation.
- Implement the installation of patches and software updates for physical und virtual system environments and for automation components related to control and protection systems.
- Update HVAC and cooling systems for converters, using TIA Portal, TDC, S7-410H, and future systems such as T3000 and Beckhoff.
- Conduct updates for switches, firewalls, and routers, including RuggedCom, Cisco and Fortinet.
- Collaborate with a team to ensure efficient execution of tasks on-site, with assignments typically lasting around 4 days for FACTS and up to 3 weeks for HVDC installations.
- Maintain awareness of critical infrastructure requirements and ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
What you Bring :
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.Experience with patch management and system updates in industrial automation environments.Familiarity with FACTS and HVDC systems is highly desirable.Strong understanding of network devices, including switches, firewalls, and routers.Knowledge of automation components, including SICAM PAS, IEDs ( SIPROTECs) and HVAC systems based on TIA Portal.Awareness of critical infrastructure and its operational requirements.Proficiency in English; knowledge of German is a plus.Ability to work in a team environment and manage tasks effectively.Willingness to travel extensively on sites abroad.
