The SDES designs the wire harness based on the customer electrical designs systems (EDS) and its architectures.

The SDES specialized in electrical design, designs the wired connection between components (antennas, lights, sensors, actuators and electronic control units) considering the system schematics, the connector eligibility and pin-cavity availability, the type of contacts for the housings, the need of sealing the wires in the housings and finally the wire's cross-sections and colors within the released components by customer.

The SDES is responsible for SYS reviews, KAB and drawing creation as well as change and variant management according customer specifications. The elaboration of technical documentation, safe and mass concepts, in general BCO (Bordnetz Control Office) documentation are considered too.

The SDES specialized in package and routing designs the wired connection between components (antennas, lights, sensors, actuators and electronic control units) using Computer-aided Design Software and creating the wire harness installation. The SDES considers the car environment (bodywork, the cladding and linings, etc..) and the hardware specifications of components of the harness itself. Moreover, the quantity of wires, the thickness for current and future technical content, the protections like tapes and corrugated tubes or connector caps, the montage over lengths for sequenced assemblies, realistic representation of the routing behavior etc.... are variables considered for a functional and reliable product.

The SDES is responsible for the design taking into account the drawing representation including Data management and DMU-deployment and review. The elaboration of technical documentation, PDM sheets and in general BCO are considered too.
