Senior Cobol Developer

Job Title : Senior COBOL Developer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior COBOL Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in COBOL development within mainframe environments and will be proficient in key technologies such as TSO, JCL, CICS, and DB2. You will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining COBOL-based applications that support critical business processes.

Key Responsibilities :

Develop, maintain, and support COBOL applications on mainframe platforms

Work with technical teams to design scalable and robust COBOL solutions

Analyze and resolve production issues efficiently and effectively

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including analysts, testers, and project managers

Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and internal standards

Document code, technical specification and user manuals

Ensure compliance with security, quality, and performance standards

Communicate clearly in English and be able to work in a French

speaking environment

Required Skills and Experience :

Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in COBOL development

Strong experience with Mainframe environments

Proficient in TSO, JCL, CICS, DB2

Experience with debugging and performance tuning in COBOL system

Knowledge of other COBOL-specific tools and utilities is a plus (e.g., File-AID, Expeditor, Abend-AID)

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent communication skills in English (mandatory) and  knowledge of French is a plus.
