Position summary :
Linux system engineer, part of the PQRS Production & Qualification Readiness SW) team.
As an embedded Linux SW engineer, you will contribute to the creation of a lightweight Linux distribution used in HARMAN to perform low-level validation and certification of the hardware used in various automotive projects.
You will be challenged to find solutions that blend both hardware and software worlds to reach an optimized and streamlined design between the systems and our internal customers’ requirements.
You will be part of an ever-growing and ever-changing platform that will continue to evolve along with the cutting-edge tech used in Automotive. The nature of our platform gives you the chance of upgrading the existing model and challenging the status-quo, as our objective is to always stay in front of the pack and develop on the latest technologies.
Our beneficiaries are the main car makers in Europe.
Job Responsibilities :
You are contributing to the development and maintenance of a Linux distribution used for HW bring-up, validation and certification across the HARMAN products portfolio. Your role is focused on bringing up and configuring the audio interfaces and functional blocks of our products. You are the expert on audio related topics and you are involved in consultancy, development and design activities part of the software team responsible for this Linux distribution.
Basic qualifications :
To fulfill this role, you are required to have the following qualifications :
- proven experience with audio interfaces and their particularities in terms of configuration and debugging.
- experience with A2B (automotive audio bus)
- excellent understanding of the abstractions and concepts implemented in the Linux kernel as well as in user space for audio stack (e.g. ALSA)
- comfortable with configuring audio interfaces across the audio stack (kernel configuration, DTBs, user space configuration)
- confident in dealing with hardware from user-space, reading schematics and block diagrams, reading data sheets
- confident in programming under Linux and for Linux, good understanding of the Linux philosophy and APIs
