Location : Romania (Remote) with monthly business trips to the UK
Start Date : July 2025
Contract Duration : 6-12 months, with possibility of extension
Work Mode : Remote, with occasional compensated travel to the UK (2-3 days / month)

Role Overview
We are looking for two experienced Quality Engineering (QE) Leads to support a UK-based client in leading a full QA transformation initiative. The selected consultants will be responsible for designing and implementing core QE processes including defect management , defining test KPIs and metrics , and developing advanced JIRA dashboarding solutions. This role is part of a strategic transition toward a Testing-as-a-Service (TaaS) model and will be essential in driving improvements in testing efficiency, visibility, and governance.
Key Responsibilities
Governance & Process Alignment
Define and enforce defect SLAs and collaborate closely with development teams
Establish and manage Defect Management Governance processes including triage, escalation paths, and reporting workflows
Define and monitor testing KPIs and metrics (e.g., defect aging, test coverage) aligned with business goals using JIRA dashboards
Tooling & Automation
Lead the migration of test management tools to JIRA
Configure real-time dashboards in JIRA for live reporting to stakeholders
Collaborate with SDETs to evaluate automation feasibility , integrate with CI / CD (GitHub Actions) , and maximize ROI
Test Execution & Quality Gates
Oversee planning and execution of functional, integration, and UAT testing
Define entry and exit criteria for release readiness and ensure audit trail and artifact traceability
Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for defect prevention and process improvement
Team Leadership & Stakeholder Collaboration
Act as a key liaison between internal testing teams, vendors, and client stakeholders
Support the QA Manager in reporting on progress, risks, and metrics to senior leadership
Promote cross-functional collaboration to ensure efficient and aligned test delivery
Continuous Improvement
Advocate for best practices in QE and help drive innovation such as leveraging GenAI for test analysis
Lead retrospectives and introduce continuous process enhancements to optimize test strategy
Required Skills & Experience
Minimum 5 years experience in Quality Engineering / Test Leadership , preferably in travel or fast-paced industries
Proven track record in manual, automation, and integration testing
Deep understanding of Agile / Scrum delivery models
Advanced expertise in JIRA , test management tools, and dashboarding platforms like Power BI or Tableau
Experience in SLA-driven defect management , KPI definition, and JIRA migration
Familiarity with CI / CD pipelines , automation frameworks, and RCA practices
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
Nice to Have
ISTQB Advanced Certification or similar
Prior experience in QA transformation projects
