Sales Engineer (Romania)

Nijhuis Saur Industries is a global leader in water and wastewater treatment technologies, resource recovery, and sustainable energy generation. With a growing presence in Romania, we are establishing a dedicated local office to better serve our clients and strengthen our foothold in the region. We are now seeking a Sales Engineer who will primarily be based in our office, focusing on preparing accurate, competitive, and technically sound offers for our potential clients.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Offers' Preparation : Develop comprehensive, detailed proposals and offers tailored to customer specifications, ensuring the highest quality standards.
  • Technical Configuration : Select and configure process solutions in line with client requirements, leveraging in-house design tools, spreadsheets, and established methodologies.
  • Documentation & Calculations : Prepare and review cost estimates, calculations, and supporting documentation required for pricing and tender submission.
  • Collaboration : Coordinate closely with sales colleagues, engineering teams, and project managers (both locally and internationally) to ensure proposals are feasible, competitive, and effectively presented.
  • Client Support (Remote) : Provide technical support and consultancy to clients mainly from the office, addressing inquiries and clarifying technical details. Limited on-site visits may occur occasionally.
  • Quality & Compliance : Ensure that all proposals comply with internal guidelines, industry standards, and client requirements.

Requirements :

  • Education : University degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related field (ideally with a focus on water / wastewater treatment).
  • Experience : Prior experience in an engineering, technical sales, or proposal preparation role within the water / wastewater industry or a related sector is highly desirable.
  • Technical Skills : Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel), with the ability to create and manage spreadsheets, perform calculations, and prepare professional documents and presentations.
  • Language Skills : Fluency in English and Romanian (written and spoken) is essential. Knowledge of other languages is an advantage.
  • Personal Attributes : Attention to detail, analytical thinking, good organizational skills, strong sense of responsibility for the quality and accuracy in the executed work, ability to work in multicultural teams, stress resistance.
