Senior Java Developer

We are looking for an experienced IT Solutions Engineer to join a major enterprise transformation programme within a highly regulated environment. This is a hands-on role combining solution architecture software engineering expertise and technical leadership.

Working closely with the core product team in Dresden Germany as well as business stakeholders and distributed delivery teams across Europe and the UK you will be responsible for designing evolving and modernising enterprise-scale platforms while ensuring high performance standards scalability and maintainability.

Expected work locations: 23 weeks in Dresden then quarterly travel for 1 week to Dresden while working remotely.

• Support delivery throughout the full software development lifecycle
• Promote engineering best practice and architectural standards across teams

Qualifications :

We are looking for a technology leader with 7 years experience in enterprise software development and solution architecture.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong Java background including Java 11/17 and Java EE / Jakarta EE together with proven experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale applications. Strong database design and development expertise particularly with PostgreSQL is essential as is hands-on experience with Eclipse RCP SWT and JFace and WildFly Application Server.

You should have a solid understanding of software architecture object-oriented design principles and design patterns with experience leading the modernisation of legacy systems and supporting long-term technology roadmaps. Experience with JPA/Hibernate CI/CD pipelines Docker Maven and Azure DevOps would be advantageous.

To succeed in this role you will be a collaborative communicator who is comfortable working with geographically distributed teams and engaging effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
