Job role

The Pricing Technology team is a recently formed unit within the Global Pricing department at AGCS. The team is responsible for maintaining and further developing the pricing tool system landscape. You will join an international department located across London, Munich, Bucharest, Chicago and New York.

AGCS is implementing a major expansion of its technical pricing capabilities. As part of this, work has been initiated to modernize the pricing tool deployment across a number of tools, including Python, Hx Renew, the WTW Radar suite and other technologies.

In this role, you will report to the Head of Pricing Technology and support him and other senior team members to drive forward the pricing development efforts of the Pricing Technology team. This will involve collaborating with the line of business and the underwriter units to deliver new pricing tools and enhancements to our existing pricing tools. It is a fantastic opportunity to shape the pricing direction at AGCS whilst having exposure to a spread of pricing technologies.

What you will do

• Implement, maintain and enhance our pricing tools across various platforms;
• Adhere to the AGCS Hx Renew build and testing standards;
• Work closely with third party providers delivering supplementary development;
• Work together with AGCS Pricing and Underwriting teams to understand and ensure accurate delivery of their requirements;
• Collaborate effectively with IT on the integration of our pricing tools with the AGCS IT landscape;
• Maintain our pricing tool design principles and contribute to their development;
• Deliver pricing updates with a focus on quality, ensuring they’re peer reviewed and tested comprehensively;
• Establish an excellent working relationship with all stakeholders to ensure their long-term support for our pricing tools;
• Successfully collaborate across the Global Pricing team and all AGCS departments.

What you bring

• Either: existing experience in Python, and/or Hx Renew development. At least 2 years of development including design and build for production environments, and familiarity with a range of their features;
• Or: background in computer science with a willingness to learn Python. Experience in procedural programming languages required alongside a demonstrated ability to quickly pick up new languages and approaches.
• Previous experience in the insurance industry is a strong advantage;
• We highly welcome candidates with a genuine interest and affinity for Information Technology (IT) and Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI), as these attributes are considered valuable assets to our team.

You have

• Strong understanding of mathematical techniques. Actuarial background is an advantage;
• Problem solving mentality;
• Exposure to data visualization and/or wider user interface design an advantage;
• High attention to detail with a focus on building systematic controls to ensure quality of delivery;
• Ability to build strong working relationships with peers, management and the business areas.
• Experience of successfully working in close partnership with Pricing, Underwriting and IT teams an advantage;
• Experienced in discussing technical information to a non-technical audience;
• Ability to work in an international / virtual environment.
