Job Description

Key Responsibilities May Include:

• Conduct comprehensive financial analysis, including profitability reviews, variance analysis, and financial modelling, to support business decisions and optimize performance.
• Prepare and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual budgets and forecasts, ensuring accuracy and alignment with strategic business goals.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., supply chain, commercial, sales) to provide actionable insights that enhance financial decision-making and operational outcomes.
• Provide analytical support for business case development, cost analysis, and evaluation of strategic initiatives to ensure informed decision-making.
• Drive process improvements by supporting the implementation and optimization of financial tools, automation efforts, and standardized processes.
• Perform post-investment reviews to assess the performance of strategic initiatives and recommend corrective actions where needed.
• support efforts to improve reporting, forecasting, and financial data quality, ensuring timely and accurate consolidation of financial information.
• Support ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects, including pricing strategies, cost savings initiatives, and performance tracking, to drive business improvements.

Position Purpose:

The Senior Commercial Finance Analyst plays a key role in advancing CHEP’s Cost Clarity program across Europe.

The role enables better commercial decision-making by improving customer profitability insights, embedding cost transparency within commercial finance processes and delivering scalable solutions across 27 countries.

The position combines finance modelling, advanced analytics and business partnering to improve pricing decisions, customer segmentation and profitability while supporting CHEP’s European our sustainable Growth strategy.ies:

Major/ Key Accountabilities:

Cost Clarity implementation

Drive the deployment and adoption of Cost Clarity capabilities across European markets.

· Ensure implementation milestones are delivered according to programme timelines.

· Drive standardisation of Cost Clarity methodologies across countries.

Financial modelling & analytics:

· Analyse complex datasets to generate actionable commercial insights.

· Develop and maintain customer segmentation models using operational and financial drivers.

· Identify trends, root causes and profitability improvement opportunities.

· Produce robust financial analysis supporting commercial decision-making.

Business partnering:

· Partner with Central Finance to integrate Cost Clarity capabilities into existing commercial finance tools and processes.

· Collaborate with Commercial, Supply Chain, Digital and Retail teams to improve cost visibility.

· Present analytical findings to senior stakeholders in a clear and commercially relevant manner.

KPI ownership & governance:

· Own segmented cost allocation KPIs and maintenance.

· Monitor data quality and model performance.

· Recommend continuous improvements to methodologies and reporting processes.

Capability building:

· Act as the subject matter expert for Cost Clarity methodologies.

· Support training and knowledge sharing across European finance teams.

· Promote adoption of financial modelling best practices.

Team Support:

· As required by team and practically managed, support for wider EU commercial finance analytical priorities.
