Who we are
By joining our project, you will be working on an initiative of the European Commission focused on creating a more efficient, modern and secure customs environment within the European Union. Being part of this initiative set on a 5 years’ timeline, you will have the opportunity to work on topics such as digitalization of customs processes, streamlining customs procedures to facilitate trade and reduce costs, harmonization of customs rules across all EU member states and combating fraud.
This purposeful project will not only give you the opportunity to have an impact on one of the key topics within the European Union, it will also offer you various professional opportunities, let you experience a collaborative environment, using cutting-edge technologies and experiencing diversity in your everyday professional life.
What you’ll be doing
- Identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks that could impact the operations and strategic objectives
- Developing and implementing risk management frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and enhance the organization's resilience
- Conducting risk assessments to determine the likelihood and impact of potential risks
- Developing risk profiles and maintaining a comprehensive risk register
- Developing and implementing a robust risk management framework aligned with strategic goals
- Establishing risk management policies, procedures, and guidelines
- Ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards
- Designing and implementing risk mitigation strategies and controls
- Monitoring the effectiveness of risk controls and making necessary adjustments
- Collaborating with various departments to integrate risk management practices into daily operations
- Preparing and presenting risk reports to senior management and stakeholders
- Communicating risk management activities and outcomes to relevant parties
- Providing training and support to staff on risk management practices and policies
- Leading incident response and crisis management activities
- Investigating and analyzing incidents to identify root causes and prevent recurrence
- Maintaining records of incidents and corrective actions taken
- Continuously monitoring the risk environment and updating risk management practices accordingly
- Staying informed about emerging risks and industry trends
- Fostering a culture of risk awareness and proactive risk management within the organization
What you’ll bring along
Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or MBA is preferredMinimum of 10 years of experience in risk management, preferably within a regulatory or international environmentProfessional certifications such as Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Certified Risk Professional (CRP), or similar are highly desirableStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsProficiency in risk management tools and methodologiesAbility to lead and manage cross-functional teamsStrong project management skillsAbility to inspire and motivate teams to achieve risk management goalsStrong capability to analyze complex risks and develop effective mitigation strategiesExpertise in communicating risk-related information clearly and effectivelyAbility to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholdersExcellent command of both spoken and written EnglishIdeally, IT Infrastructure and ITIL know-howDocument
