The Mission

Financial Markets Competitive Pricing is looking for an enthusiastic experienced Operations Chapter Lead for our in-house developed Financial Markets Pricing & Risk platform. With your passion for Financial Markets and engineering skills you ensure and support a stable, secure and performing critical Financial Markets pricing and risk application, allowing Global Market Risk users and Traders to perform pre-deal pricing, EoD portfolio calculations of valuation adjustment, Market Risk simulations (. VaR, MI, Bilateral Margining) all driven by new ECB regulation as well as advanced Risk analysis on the derivative product portfolio of Financial Markets (interest rates, credits, foreign exchange).

You and your squad will be delivering key components spread over FlexING squads of Competitive Pricing area in Wholesale Banking Financial Markets. FlexING is focused on delivering solutions for sales, traders, and risk managers. We are specialized in derivative products, covering multiple asset classes (equities, commodities, interest rates). Our business users are in London, Amsterdam, Brussels, New York, and Singapore. We are building applications to automate the whole flow from client quote requests, to pricing, booking and risk management as much as possible.

Your day to day

Even if you’ll start your day from the comfort of your home or drink your morning coffee in our office’s garden, your day will be quite similar when comes to tasks. Together with your IT colleagues in Brussels, Bucharest, Singapore, Amsterdam you will share and own the following daily responsibilities :

Continuous deployment and delivery using Azure DevOps

Implement the security policy so that the system is secure at operating system, database and application server level (this includes also regular patching of the entire environment suite Dev, Test, Acceptance, Production)

Configure and implement appropriate Monitoring Tooling using the correct and agreed event alerts

Perform High Availability and Disaster Recovery tests with support from other IT teams

IT Risk & security controls need to be put in place and accurately documented, for this you will need to get familiar and keep up to date with the ING Information Security Management Policy

Specify, design, test and deploy the runtime scripts (. stop / start / purge / backup / deploy / rollback)

Implement and work with the latest tooling with a strong focus on performance, stability and security

Perform Functional testing and Change Management activities in order to ensure the safe deliveries from Test, to Acceptance and to Production environment

Find opportunities to automate the testing of existing features, performance and security as well as the automation of deployments, monitoring, and more. This is a key responsibility of the Operations Engineers

Perform incident and problem management activities, including root cause analysis to determine the actual failure cause and implement structural fixes. You communicate directly with users (Traders, Credit / Market Risk Managers) on this from Amsterdam, London, Brussels, New York and Singapore

Occasional travel abroad (Amsterdam, Brussels)

What you’ll bring to the team

Experience : 3+ years of software engineering / operations experience

Tech stack / knowledge :

Mandatory :

Advanced knowledge on Windows OS administration, PowerShell and batch scripting

Advanced knowledge on MS SQL Server and Transact-SQL

Advanced knowledge on CI / CD, and experience with Azure DevOps, Git, Maven, Checkmarx, Jenkins, Ansible

Linux (RedHat Enterprise Linux (7 or 8)) is a plus

Thorough understanding of networks, firewalls and scripting languages (. PowerShell, bash, Python)

Knowledge of monitoring tools (such as Prometheus, Elasticsearch, Kibana, Logstash, Zabbix)

A customer focus, with the mindset to find and resolve root causes of incidents to structurally improve the customer experience.

IT Operations / Support experience, including Functional support to end users (such as Traders, Risk Managers, Collateral Managers but could be in another domain / field) combined with analytical skills to identify root causes in workflows incidents (data, technical, functional).

Familiarity with tools like ServiceNow, Confluence, Fortify

Experience or affinity with IT Risk (SOx, vulnerability management) and Security concepts (protocols, certificates,

A good team player, cross functional, enjoys interacting with people of all levels in a multicultural environment

Proactive and attentive to other’s needs

Nice to have :

Experience with managing full-stack vendor packages, and additionally (low latency) infrastructural stack knowledge

Familiarity with Docker and orchestration for it like Kubernetes or Openshift

Foreign languages : English (advanced)

Education : Education at Bachelor / Master level with a strong analytical background, in Computer Science, Cybernetics, Software Engineering, Financial Engineering or equivalent
